FULTON, Miss.(WCBI)– Fulton has a new manufacturer and despite a recent plateau in gun sales, the new company hopes their rifle hits the mark with consumers.

Just like that, DSP Armory is up and running in Fulton, cranking out AR Rifles.

With the help of a a machine,DSP Armory hopes to manufacture about 250 of these a month.

The company is trying to target hunters who want a product made in the USA, that is more tailored than rifles on the market now.

Owner Ted Chatham says the magic is in the machine.

“When you machine one, you can get features that you can’t get from a cookie cutter forged part,” says President Ted Chatham.

Some changes they’ve made include texture on the mag well, changing up the trigger guard, making the gun more comfortable and blending the contours to make a more aesthetic rifle.

In order to compete in the industry, Chatham says their selling strategy aims to recruit local companies and grow as demand expands.

“Having to be agressive with some of the selling we’re doing as far as the places we’re going and all. Because we’re having to track people down to make the sales instead of them coming to us,” says President Ted Chatham.

The DSP Armory brand could also soon add tactical weapons, and as their brand grows, so will Fulton’s economy.

Right now the company has added about 10 part time employees.
