Benton County Sheriff Releases Names of Tornado Fatalities and Missing

ASHLAND, Miss.

Benton County Sheriff’s Department

December 24, 2015

On December 23, 2015, severe weather, including at least one tornado, passed through our county. As a result of the storm, several homes were damaged and unfortunately four deaths were contributed to the storm.
The following are those that died in our county as a result of the storm:

Max Croxton, 69, and Ellen Croxton, 67, both of Hamilton Rd, Faulkner, MS.
Their home was located in the north part of our county. The home was completely destroyed.

William E. Crawford, 67, of County Church Road, Lamar, MS.
Patricia G. Williams, 58, of County Church Road, Lamar, MS.
It appears both victims were residing at a home in the central part of our county. The home was completely destroyed.

We are still trying to locate:
Michael A. Nunnally, 47, of County Church Road, Lamar, MS.
Nunnally was residing at the same home as Crawford and Williams.
We have several volunteers and deputies that are still trying to locate Mr. Nunnally.
Our department is also still working alongside state and local officials to help our citizens begin to move into a recovery stage.
