Video: Thompson Loses Appeal Of Removal

(LEE COUNTY, Ms) WCBI – The judicial career of Ricky Thompson is done.
The Mississippi Supreme Court today denied the Lee County Justice Court Judge’s request for a new hearing on the ruling which removed him from office. Thompson was ordered to leave the post back in June for judicial misconduct but asked the court to reconsider.  Thompson was re-elected to the job Tuesday but the ruling, which takes effect August 13th means he cannot return to the bench.  The State democratic party is meeting this afternoon to decide how to handle putting a replacement for Thompson on the November general election ballot
