STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s GO time for students in Starkville.

Students from all over the state came together today to put their skills to the test.

It’s all apart of the Annual Mississippi Best Robotics competition.

It’s designed to interest students in engineering, science and technology.

Students have six weeks to design, develop and test a robot that can outperform their competitors.

Participants say the competition prepares them for challenges in life.

“I’ve wanted to go to the Naval Academy since I was a freshman and robotics has really helped me get interested in engineering and that’s one of the main things they do at the academy and it’s really good on a resume,” said Marshall Adair, from Starkville High School.

Almost 20 teams participated in this year’s competition.
