TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – One of many groups helping storm victims in Holly Springs comes from Tupelo.

Several Tupelo council members and other city officials left this morning for Holly Springs to lend a hand to those who were devastated by the deadly winter storms.

There they met with the city’s mayor, Kelvin Buck, who is a Tupelo native.

Ward Four councilwoman Nettie Davis helped organize the trip, and says Tupelo wants to do whatever it can to help.

In a statement made to WCBI, Davis said they are making the trip to Holly Springs to take a look at the situation and see what they can do to offer help and support.

She says people were kind to their neighborhood in similar situations and they just want a chance to do the same for another community.

The delegation hopes to organize a relief effort in the future for the city of Holly Springs.
