UPDATE – Friday Night Shooting Victim Identified

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus Police say a suspect is in custody in connection with a Friday night shooting

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says an 18-year-old young man died Friday night in a shooting in Columbus’ South side. Merchant says the victim is Kwesi Kagekogel Hill. The case is still classified as a homicide pending an autopsy to determine the official cause of death

A spokesman for the City of Colimbus says Hill was shot in the 1700 block of 4th Avenue South but adds detectives spent Friday night and the early hours of Saturday processing two other crime scenes to see if they are connected to the fatal shooting . The CPD is planning on releasing more details including the suspects identity later Saturday. We will have the latest on this developing story here on WCBI.com
