TUPELO, MS(WCBI)-Boys and Girls Clubs of North Mississippi received a grant to fund a program teaching valuable life skills to youngsters.The Tupelo Rotary Club gave the Boys and Girls Clubs a 4 thousand dollar grant.   The money will help fund the organization’s “SMART Moves” program. That initiative addresses many issues youngsters deal with, and the goal is to help young people make wise decisions.

“It’s one of the programs that was developed at Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the emphasis is on teaching our young club members how to avoid conflict, to decrease bullying opportunities,    to teach them about how to say no to drugs, alcohol and abstaining from sex at an early age so they can fulfill our mission of being productive, responsible and caring citizens.”
Each day,  more than 150 young people attend activities at both Tupelo Boys and Girls Clubs branches.
