Video: An Official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Takes Place At The Tupelo Police Department

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – People got a chance to see the new Tupelo Police Department headquarters on Monday.

The city held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house this afternoon.

It’s a $10-million dollar facility that houses the main agencies under one roof for the first time.

It includes an armory, exercise room, crime lab, and evidence storage area.

“Getting this police department built, I know it was in April of last year that we did our groundbreaking, and so here it is, you know, just two months into the new year, and now we’re moved and we’re opened for business as they say, so we’re just excited about being here today,” says Chief Bart Aguirre.

Officers have been working out of the new building since late last year.
