WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — Members of the West Point Rotary Club get an update on Mississippi’s roads. Northern District Transportation Commissioner, Mike Tagert, presented an overview of the state’s current road and infrastructure projects. With some of the larger statewide projects in the later phases, the emphasis is shifting from construction to maintenance.
MDOT’s new focus is the state’s bridges.
“The situation our state is in with respect to our roads and bridges,” said Target. “Bridges continue to be our concern. We have a lot of bridge needs in our state.”
In North Mississippi, the four laning of Highways 45 and 6 are in the final stages of construction.
