6 Arrested in Connection with Columbus Motel Disturbance
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — What started as a response to a possible disturbance involving a gun turned into a mass arrest.
Police responded about 3:31 a.m. Tuesday to the Plaza Motel located at 243 Island Road in response to the alleged disturbance.
Upon further investigation, police arrested the following suspects:
— 30-year-old Columbus man Tavoris Sherrod;
— 34-year-old Columbus man Lorenzo Halthorn;
— 28-year-old Columbus man Malcolm Davis;
— 26-year-old Steens woman Jamie Thorsen;
— 19-year-old West Point teen Laquita Stephenson; and
— 23-year-old Columbus man Deanthony Jones.
Authorities allegedly discovered Sherrod, Davis and Halthorn with a felony amount of marijuana and were charged accordingly. Thorsen was charged with possession of cocaine. Stephenson and Jones were charged with possession of stolen firearms.
