2013 Best of the Class

The 21st annual “Best of the Class” is just around the corner. This is a popular community service project that salutes graduating high school students in North Mississippi and West Alabama for academic excellence. If you are going to be your high school valedictorian or salutatorian and would like to be apart of this special salute, contact your school counselor or Abbey Hendrix, WCBI promotions coordinator.

The valedictorians and salutatorians from the WCBI-TV community will be honored at a gathering on May 14 from 12-2pm (make-up day: May 21st from 2-3pm) at the Leadership Park across the street from WCBI headquarters in Columbus, MS.

At this event WCBI will present each graduating student with a “Best of the Class” certificate. We will also be videotaping a 30-second message with the valedictorian and salutatorian from each school. This 30-second video message will be aired on WCBI, MyMS and North MS the CW, as an announcement series throughout the months of June and July.

A “make-up” event will take place on May 21st from 2-3pm to honor the valedictorians and salutatorians who were not able to attend the May 15 event. These students will be presented with a “Best of the Class” certificate and will also be videotaping a 30-second video message.

ATTENTION:

Parents, teachers, students and/or counselors: You will have the opportunity to purchase a copy of the 30-second message when available. Please contact Abbey Hendrix (see above) for additional information. The DVD will be $5 and will be mailed to you. The fee covers the cost of the DVD and postage. You are welcome to go ahead and reserve a copy at the “Best of the Class” event.
