COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Columbus.

Columbus Light and Water began hanging illuminated Christmas trees on the light poles this morning.

Dozens of lights will go up on Main and 5th Street in preparation for upcoming holiday events.

The yearly tradition helps bring in the holiday spirit for shoppers and business owners.

The lights will also set the backdrop for Wasslefest and the annual Christmas parade held in downtown Columbus.
