Columbus-based Tech Firms Merge Under Exceed Technologies Name

COLUMBUS, Miss. (Press Release) — Exceed Technologies and 3point Technologies, two Columbus-based firms, have merged into a single operation with more than 40 employees, company officials announced Monday.

The new information technology company will operate under the Exceed name. Current Exceed President Jeremy Bandre will continue in his position, and the headquarters will stay in Columbus and Exceed will continue to have offices in Tupelo and Jackson.

Bandre and 3point President and Chief Executive Officer Terry Shelton announced the merger, which took effect Monday.

“This merger will ultimately provide our customer base with a wider range of IT-related products and services,” Bandre, who founded Exceed in 2001, said. “Our customers will immediately see new names and faces, with faster and more efficient service.”

Shelton, whose company started in 1987, said the merger “will have two companies become one to better service our IT community and surrounding areas.”

“We feel this is a move that will benefit all involved with a greater impact and a stronger bond,” Shelton said.

In the new organization, David Bradley will remain Chief Technology Officer and Shelton will serve as Executive Vice President. Almost all of Exceed’s 32 employees and 3point’s 11 employees will stay with the company. Bandre said the company expects more than $5 million in gross annual sales.

Exceed offers, among other things, hardware sales, cloud hosting and technical services. The merger also allows Exceed to sell directly to state entities via the Internet because 3point is on what is known as the Express Products List.

“Being in the public sector gives Exceed more room to grow,” Bandre said. “And our growth always adds new product lines and services to our arsenal. If it has anything to do with IT, we do it.”
