COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) 28 years ago, Susan Mackay opened her shop “Party and Paper.” This came after working at a dress shop, giving her an edge on everything bridal. Since then, she has seen invitations evolve from teal parchman paper to elaborate designs, that come in different shapes, colors, and textures.

It’s all about options when it comes to brides.

Save the date cards and magnets have also become hot ticket items. It’s a recent trend that adds one more item to the bridal “to-do” list. Brides can even custom design their invitations.

Susan advises those picky ladies to choose a theme, color scheme and dress before choosing the invitation.

” It is important to get a little information from the bride, so that they understand them and they understand you. You can normally do that after they’ve looked at an invitation or two, you can tell what they are looking for, ” says MacKay.

For Susan Mackay, helping alleviate some of the hastle from a stressed out bride is just one more day in the life.
