Kosciusko Doctor Dies In Trace Accident

LEAKE COUNTY, MS – On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at 1:40 p.m., the Natchez Trace Parkway Communications Center received notification of a single motor vehicle accident with fatality near milepost 146, near Kosciusko, MS.  U.S. Park Rangers and Leake County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

 

The vehicle, a Hummer H3, was operated by Dr. Perry J. Lishman, age 56, of Kosciusko, MS.  His wife, Charity Lishman and two juvenile children were in the car at the time of the accident.  Preliminary information indicates Dr. Lishman had a medical emergency which resulted in the car going off the roadway and flipping several times.  Dr. Lishman and a juvenile female were both ejected from the vehicle.  The three passengers were transported to University Medical Center.  Dr. Lishman was declared deceased at the scene.
