Monetary and In-Kind Donations Being Accepted

TUPELO, Miss. (Press Release) — The CREATE Foundation has established the Disaster Relief Fund to aid in the recovery of Tupelo and Lee County in the wake of the April 28 tornado. CREATE will match donations up to a total of $25,000. Additionally, Renasant Bank and BancorpSouth have each offered to match the fund up to $10,000. Non-perishable food items and cleaning supplies are needed at the United Way donation site at 1031 South Green Street site. This is the central collection point for the storm and request that all donations be directed to this site. The site is managed by Lee County and staffed mainly by the United Way volunteers.

The site is open 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Those donations can be coordinated by calling 662-871-2819.  Those who are in need of these items may also call 662.871.2819.

All donations for The Salvation Army are being accepted at Tupelo Furniture Market Building 5 loading dock. They are accepting water and snack donations that they are distributing. However, at this time, they are not accepting donations of clothing. If late or weekend drop offs are needed please call Melissa or Meagan at 662-842-4442.

Families affected by the recent tornadoes may come to 527 Carnation Street for assistance with food and clothing, etc. they may call us at 662-842-9222.

The Red Cross continues to operate an emergency shelter at the BancorpSouth Arena. Donations can be made at redcross.org or by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
