MS Child Cured of Aids

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – Scientists have announced Sunday that a baby born with the Aids virus has been cured.

When a mother entered a Mississippi rural emergency room and delivered a baby the Doctors detected HIV. Standard practice is to give the newborn low doses of medication to keep the virus from taking root. The rural hospital was ill equipped and sent the infant to Gay’s Medical Center where the baby received high doses of medication. The child seemed to have been doing well so the parents stopped taking the child to treatment.

After several tests Doctors say the baby shows no signs of the virus.
