STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI Sports) - Elisabeth Sullivan tied the Mississippi State women’s soccer single-season goals record Friday. It’s just another in a long list of achievements. The senior, who they call “Sully,” has accomplished a lot.

This season, under new head coach Aaron Gordon, she sees the program going in a positive direction.

“I think it’s the culture change,” Sullivan said. “Everything has changed. That’s what I’ll remember most.”

She’s thankful for the support of her parents and teammates.

“The friendships here I know will last a lifetime,” Sullivan said. “I’ve met some of my best friends. My parents are definitely my number one support. They come to every game, even out-of-town games.”

Gordon says she’s meant a lot to this team.

“Sully has been unbelievable in every aspect,” Gordon said. “Everyone knows Sullivan is a goal scorer. She might have 20 with a little luck. To have one player that everyone knows is the biggest goal scorer and still be the most dangerous player on the field says a lot.”

MSU finishes its season Thursday at Ole Miss.

Sullivan is scheduled to graduate in May with a degree in education. She wants to teach at the kindergarten level back home in Memphis. Gordon says she could play at the pro level if she wanted to, if a team gives her the opportunity.
