MSU Student Dies in Car Crash

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Wednesday night car accident in Oktibbeha County leaves ones person dead.

According to Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt, 21 year old James Harrell was pronounced dead on the scene of a single car accident on Old West Point Road. Oktibbeha County deputies arrived on the scene around 11:25 Wednesday night after a passerby called in the accident. Preliminary reports show Harrell lost control of his Nissan 350 ZX, swerved off the road and hit a tree. He was not wearing his seat-belt.

Harrell was a MSU student and graduate from West Point High. His father is Robert Harrell Jr., the Clay County Circuit Clerk.
