Murder Suicide

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Two local Sheriff departments are working together to make sense of a murder suicide that happened on Friday.

According to Montgomery County Sheriff Bubba Nix, four individuals were at the home of  Terry Wayne Lott, 56 when an altercation ensued. Three of the guests left the home and stopped at Midway Grocery in Carroll County. Witnesses say, Lott drove up to the car of the individuals and fired shots at Melvin Mitchell Henry, 57  who was a passenger. Henry died on the scene from his injuries sustained by the .22 caliber rifle. According to witnesses, Lott then got in his truck and drove away. When authorities arrived to the home of Lott they found him dead on his front porch from an apparent self inflicted gun shot with the same rifle.

Both bodies have been sent to Jackson for autopsy.
