One Hospitalized, One Jailed after a Sunday Shooting in Prentiss County

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A Sunday afternoon shooting resulted in one person being hospitalized while another was taken to jail.

According to Sheriff Randy Tolar, the shooting occurred on County Road 8051 just before 1 p.m. One person, whose identity has not yet been release, was arrested but not charged after the incident.

The victim was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center with what is believed to be two gunshot wounds.

The incident is under investigation and charges are expected to be filed Monday.
