Video: One Injured in Lowndes Co. Accident

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. – (WCBI) A two car collision in Lowndes County leaves one woman injured.

It happened just after 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, on Highway 45 near Jess Lyons Road.

The female driver was behind the wheel of her Toyota S-U-V when she collided with a Ford F-150, driven by an unidentified man. The impact of the accident sent the S-U-V rolling over, landing on the driver’s side.

Lowndes rescuers were forced to use the jaws of life to get the female victim out of the vehicle. About 45 minutes later, she was transported to Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle with non-life threatening injuries.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
