Pontotoc Woman Dies in One-Car Accident

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) — Lee County investigators are working through the harsh weather as they investigate a fatal one-car accident.

Pontotoc resident Candace Blansett, 39, was traveling in her SUV in Lee County when a worst-case scenario unfolded.

Information about the incident is scarce, but Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green said it was possible Blansett’s vehicle either hydroplaned, or was caught by the strong wind.

Blansett, according to Green, was found to be “partially ejected” from her SUV when emergency personnel arrived on scene. Blansett died on the scene.
