JACKSON, Miss. – (WCBI)Mississippi lawmakers are considering a bill that allows gun owners to sue city officials who ban guns.
House Bill 314 is also known as Gipson’s bill.
The Attorney General’s office would have 30 days to investigate.
If sufficient evidence proved that a ban does contravene with the carry and conceal law, the municipality would have 30 days to comply or a lawsuit could be filed.
Several counties and cities across the state have prohibited firearms on public properties.
