LOUISVILLE, Miss. – (WCBI) Louisville city officials set a public hearing to gauge interest in a rental property ordinance.

City leaders voted at Tuesday’s meeting to hold the hearing on January the 15th at 5 p.m.

Residents will have the opportunity to voice their thoughts on whether regulations should be put in place for rental properties in the city limits.

City leaders say it is all in an effort to protect both tenants and property owners, as well as ensure that health and safety  are top priorities.

Tupelo and New Albany have similar laws in place, and have reported success.
