Storm Leaves Damage in Reform

[bitsontherun MTRlJ6mN]

REFORM, AL (WCBI)  – Monday night’s storm brought lightning, heavy rain and high winds to Reform, Alabama.  Tree branches snapped. The storm damaged cars, homes and businesses. A hanger collapsed at the Reform Airport and a thrift store was destroyed. Flood waters rushed into the Family Dollar and the roof of the Public Library was damaged.

The Mud Hole thrift store on Highway 82 was hit the hardest. The building completely collapsed. Tuesday, owners salvaged whatever they could.  Owner Robbie Epperson had only been at the location for five months. He hopes to rebuild on the same spot in the near future.

Mayor Criswell says they’ve already cleared three streets that were completely blocked by debris, but they could use more help.

If you would like to volunteer for the storm clean-up, contact Reform City Hall at 205-375-6363.
