Video: ACCO Brands’ Call Center to Expand

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — As employees answered calls from customers around the nation, a celebration was taking place at ACCO Brands.

This call center will nearly double in size.

“Our track record in Booneville, with the folk here has been outstanding so when the decision is to be made, Booneville kind of floats to the top,” Mark Gams with ACCO Brands said.

162 employees will be hired as ACCO’s call centers nationwide are consolidated into the Booneville office. The employees will help consumers and clients who have questions about office products, or orders for their stores.

Governor Phil Bryant says it’s just another example of companies recognizing the quality workforce available in Northeast Mississippi, plus it’s momentum for the job market.

“Mississippi is on the grow like no other state and we’re going to continue to do so, the 162 jobs here today completed our challenge of creating 10,000 new jobs since I came into office, a 7 point 4 percent unemployment rate, we’re very happy where we’re at, but we’re going to get better,” Bryant said.

One of ACCO’s newest employees says the expansion means a lot to her family.

“Job security, excitement,” New ACCO Employee Kendra McGaha said.

Hiring has started and will continue through next year.
