NORTHEAST, Miss. (WCBI) — North Mississippi drivers will have to deal with a host of changes to their local commutes Thursday.
On Highway 45 South in Lowndes County, traffic will move into the newly constructed left lanes between 7:00 and 8:00 AM. This will take place from Carson Road to four miles south of Highway 82. Contractors are set to start work on rebuilding the right lanes and bridges in that stretch of road. Work is expected to take a year to complete.
Part of Highway 25 will be closed while crews ix a railroad crossing at Muldon. That is about a mile north of Highway 45 Alternate. Detours will be in place. Work is scheduled to run from 7:00AM to 5:00PM Thursday.
Tupelo motorists could be maneuvering around a detour tomorrow. Sherwood Street from Front to Spring Street will be closed from eight A-M until 3 P-M.Crews will be replacing a cross drain. Traffic will not be allowed through the area, so you’ll need to find a different route.
