Video: Bond set for Suspect in Mother’s Day Hit and Run

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The case of the Mother’s Day hit and run has officially been closed.35-year-old Dathan McCoy of Columbus turned himself today for the hit and run that left 20-year-old Shannon Ivery of Columbus seriously injured.

Ivery and a friend were walking to Huddle House late in the evening on Mother’s Day when McCoy reportedly hit her from behind.After interrogating McCoy, police charged him with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

McCoy is currently being detained in the Lowndes County Detention Center. Bond was set at $5,000, and his initial court appearance has been set for July 24th.
