BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A ten-year old Booneville boy will be heading to Washington D.C. to meet First Lady Michelle Obama.

Reed Lindsey will represent Mississippi in the “Healthy Lunchtime Challenge “, a nationwide recipe contest promoting healthy lunches as part of Mrs. Obama’s Let’s move initiative. Reed calls his winning recipe “Pan Seared Mississippi Catfish” on a bed of river rice. Reed’s Lindsey’s recipe may be one of those selected to be served at a special Kids State Dinner on July 9th.

“I started getting interested in cooking with my dad. And I grill catfish. I feel good and I like Ms. Obama because she does stuff for kids,” says Lindsey.

This will be his second visit to the White House. Last year he won the Easter Egg Art Contest and got to go. Reed will be entering the fifth grade.
