COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-Cold weather often means more house fires for fire departments across the region. Firefighters tested ways to limit fire and studied burn patterns as part of the training. The city codes and fire departments have partnered for years to burn condemned homes as a way to clean up neighborhoods while also keeping firefighting skills sharp.
