STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Starkville youth learn their ABC’s through an interactive display.

Teachers at Emerson Family School set up the Mississippi Children’s Roll-Match Read Display.

Preschoolers made their way through the exhibit, which was designed to teach shapes, colors, letters and sounds.

Today’s early learning exercise helped these children get a jump start on reading.

“The children have been excited about using it,” Project Manager Janet Lomen said. “The teachers have enjoyed using all of the lessons that have been given to them and this was a first in the region for it to be used, and we are in hopes that we are going to be able to bring it back again.”

Children ages five and under were welcomed.
