Video: Oktibbeha County Officials Talk Growth

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — It all starts with teamwork and a plan, and that’s just what they were working on today Oktibbeha County.

Representatives from Mississippi State University, the business community, Oktibbeha County, Starkville city government and the Starkville School District put their heads together to chart a course for growth in the county.

The groups have been meeting separately for about a year. Today, they came together to share their ideas.

“All of the organizations went through their own strategic planning process, and came up with a set of measurable, achievable goals,” Phil Hardwick with the Stennis Institute for Government said. “They are now sharing those goals with each other, and determining how to collaborate to achieve those goals together in the future.”

Members broke into small groups to develop 3-year plans for city and county growth.
