TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Students throughout the area took part in a nationwide prayer movement this morning.

The event was part of the annual “See You at the Pole” initiative.

Students gathered at the Tupelo High School football field prior to classes to pray for their city, country, the school and eachother.

“Everything about this is encouraging,” THS senior Cameron O’Daniel said. “I love it so much — seeing all the Christians coming together and pouring their hearts out to God with prayer, and through just worshiping Him and everything they do here.

“A lot of times, I think believers in Christ feel alone, so gatherings like this are that reminder that, ‘No, you’re not alone. You have friends here who also follow Jesus,'” THS senior Bethany Fitts said.

This year’s theme was “Never Stop Praying.”

Many churches are holding community-wide services tonight to wrap up the annual event.
