Video: West Nile Claims Life in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Lee County resident has died from the West Nile virus.

The Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed the death this afternoon.

Four people have now died in the state from West Nile. 33 cases have been reported.

Health experts say August through September are peak times of the year for infections.

The number of cases so far is similar to last year.

The department of health says despite the cooler days, you should still wear protective clothing and use repellant.
