1 million pounds of tornado debris collected in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- So far over 1 million pounds of debris from the Columbus tornado has been picked up.

“Looks Great Services” has been collecting debris off the side of the road since Tuesday.

They say it’s important for everyone to push anything from the tornado that they don’t want in their yard onto the side of the road for pick up while they still can.

“You know, once we’re gone, we’re gone. So, if you’ve got stuff in your yards, anything caused from the tornado, we want help. We want to make this town look like it never happened. Get everything out to the streets while we’re here, and we’ll pick it up and try and make everything look right again,” said supervisor Noah Frederick.

The crew is set to continue picking up debris until late next week.
