(STARKVILLE, MS) WCBI – A major development planned for Starkville and Oktibbeha County is getting closer to reality.

Oktibbeha Supervisors today approved to issuing up to three million dollars in Tax Increment Financing bonds to help lure at least two if not three new car dealerships to an area at Highway 12 and Pat Station Road.  Today’s vote follows the city of Starkville’s approval of the same package.  In addition to the auto dealers,  restaurants and other retail developments are also in the works for the site.  The bonds would be repaid by diverting a portion of the tax payments from the businesses to cover the bond costs.
