161 new cases of COVID-19 reported, state total at 2,942

There are almost 3,000 positive COVID-19 cases in Mississippi.

The Mississippi Department of Health is reporting 161 new cases Monday, bringing the state total to 2,942.

Cases for Northeast Mississippi:

  • Calhoun County – 24 cases
  • Chickasaw County – 30 cases (2 deaths)
  • Choctaw County – 11 cases (1 death)
  • Clay County – 20 cases
  • Itawamba County – 9 cases
  • Lafayette County – 30 cases (1 death)
  • Lee County – 46 cases (4 deaths)
  • Lowndes County – 25 cases
  • Monroe County – 37 cases (2 deaths)
  • Montgomery County – 15 cases (1 death)
  • Noxubee County – 6 cases
  • Oktibbeha County – 37 cases (1 death)
  • Pontotoc County – 15 cases (1 death)
  • Prentiss County – 14 cases
  • Tishomingo County – 2 cases
  • Webster County – 14 cases (1 death)
  • Winston County – 20 cases
  • Yalobusha County – 14 cases

Two new deaths were also reported, bringing the total coronavirus deaths to 98.

549 people are currently hospitalized with the virus.

20,370 have been tested for COVID-19 by the Mississippi Department of Health and private labs.
