169 new coronavirus cases, 11 new deaths reported in Mississippi

The Mississippi Department of Health reported 169 new cases of COVID-19 Friday.

The new positives brought the state’s total to over 3,793 cases.

11 new deaths were also reported Friday, bringing the total coronavirus deaths to 140.

In the WCBI viewing area, Monroe County has the most cases with 58. Tishomingo County has the least with only two cases.

28% of positive COVID-19 cases were hospitalized, while 71% recovered at home.
