STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-In spite of the rain, many folks came dressed in their comfiest pajamas for a night of fun at the 2013 Oktibbeha Relay for Life.

This year’s theme is “Up all Night: The Ultimate Pajama Party.” Survivors and their families are invited to come out to the Sportsplex in Starkville for some fun activities such as the pajama karaoke and ultimate pillow fight. The night kicked off with the survivors lap, followed by the survivors and caregiver’s lap. One survivor says the support from family and friends means more than most know.

“It means the world to me. I just want to burst into tears. It helps to encourage the ones that are now coming out and actually admitting or they’re in denial of what’s going on with them. So, I would encourage them to come out tonight and I’m out honoring my father that passed away in 2007 with cancer,” says Letha Johnson.

The event will be going on until 2am, Saturday morning.
