BRUCE, Miss. (WCBI) — It was fun filled Saturday in the city of Bruce.

Saturday was the second day of the 25th annual Sawmill Festival.

Residents participated in the Bruce Museum’s 5k Color “Run for History.”

The event also included a car show, arts and crafts, and live music and entertainment from numerous singing groups.

Sawmill Festival Queen Marley Hood and Chamber of Commerce Secretary Carol Shoemaker say it’s a fun event for everyone to come out and enjoy.

“The best part about the Sawmill Festival to me is just walking around and getting to talk to people and just to get to interact with everybody,” said Sawmill Festival Queen Marley Hood.

“A lot of local people come out. We get people from all the counties surrounding us. It’s just a great celebration. Great festival,” said Secretary Chamber of Commerce Carol Shoemaker.

The 4th of July celebration firework show took place Saturday evening due to last weekend’s weather cancellation.
