26th annual WCBI Bridal Show takes place in downtown Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – WCBI, along with the City of Columbus and members of Columbus Main Street partnered once again for the 26th annual Bridal Show at the Trotter Center in Downtown.

You name it, and the WCBI Bridal Show most likely had it.

44 vendors showed up ready to give the bride-to-bes a full sample of what they had to offer.

“Everything is under one roof, that way people can see the assortment of services offered to the public or for brides getting married,” said Beard’s Furniture and Antiquities vendor Jennifer Longmire.

“It’s nice for people to come in and get the full experience instead of having to go to many different locations and call many different companies. This has it all here for you to see,” said Photo Booth Crazy vendor Alyssa Doom.

Event goers said the bridal show is useful in more ways than one.

“A lot of people don’t know that these businesses even exist, and they can come here and see that they actually do exist and what they have to offer… A lot of people would probably be interested in it if they know that they are even here,” said bride-to-be Kristin Williams.

Vendors saw the annual event as a unique business opportunity.

“You actually get to put a face with the business. You actually get to see the people behind it. You get to talk to them, communicate with them, and you really get to know the people behind what you’re signing up for,” said Photo Booth Crazy vendor Kagan Doom.

“We want them to have an experience when they come to our shop to remember the day that they picked out their china, their pottery, accessories for their new home, for their new life. They’re starting a new life together,” said Beard’s Furniture and Antiquities vendor Jeanette Beard.

There’s no denying the positive impact of the show for both the customer and the vendor.

“Overall it brings the community closer together. All these different groups are able to help each other and network,” said Lion Hills Center vendor Matthew Molina.

The event was an all-day affair complete with two fashion shows put on by Kay’s Kreation and the Thomas Brothers.

WCBI’s own Aundrea Self and Allie Martin emceed the event.
