VIDEO: 30th Annual Mantachie Festival

MANTACHIE, Miss. (WCBI)- The rain came early, but then the skies cleared in Mantachie for the annual Mantachie Festival.

This is the 30th year for the event held at the city park, which is where the proceeds for the event go.

There was a good crowd on hand to enjoy the live music, the great food and plenty of booths with crafts and services for sale.

Teresa Farris is co-chair of the festival, she says she loves the way the festival brings everyone together.

“It’s a lot like a family reunion, is best way I know to describe it. I mean people look forward to it every year. They can’t wait to come back and see everybody; the crafts and the booths and the food, it just gets bigger and better every year,” says Farris.

Farris says one of the best things about the Mantachie festival is that it is a two day event. She says there will be plenty of events tomorrow for everyone to enjoy. The park needs some renovations, but Farris says it will be an ongoing fundraising effort.
