4-County Electric Crews Respond to Power Outages

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI)- It was another wild night for weather in Mississippi Wednesday night.

Tornado warnings were in effect for many across the area. There were numerous reports of damage from the storms.

In Kilmichael, power was reported out after storms rolled through.

Power lines were also blown down near French Camp and Ackerman.

Crews also responded to power outages in Clay County near Pheba and Maben.

4-County Electric employee, Michael Williamson said there were many trees that needed to be cleared.

“We had a tree laying over on the line, had it bent, pushed down, we had to cut the tree off. We got another tree on a line across the line, and we have another tree across old 47 over there,” Williamson said.

At the height of the storm, 4-County Electric reported more than 2,000 customers were without power.

They worked quickly through the night to restore electricity to customers.

Other damage to trees and powerlines were reported in Oktibbeha and Monroe counties.

Much of it has since been cleaned up.
