Beef and Broccoli

Here’s a delicious and classic twist on a favorite Chinese takeout meal!  It’s also healthier with no MSG and no salt!  Plus, its fun to make and full of flavor!
Ingredients:
2 lbs flank, tri-tip or sirloin steak, sliced
2 lbs broccoli, cut into florets
2 tbsp sesame oil
1 cup water, divided
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp corn starch
1 tbsp ginger paste
4 green onions finely chopped for garnish

1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish

Directions:
1. Whisk 3/4 c water, soy, maple syrup starch, set aside

2. Preheat pan on high, swirl 1/2 of oil in pan
3. Add beef and cook until brown.  Set aside
4. Over high heat, swirl remaining oil
5. Add garlic, ginger, cook for 30 secs stirring
6. Add 1/4 c water, broccoli, stirring for 2 minutes
7. Stir sauce, add to pan with beef
8. Reduce heat to medium-low, stir & cook for few minutes
9. Once sauce has thickened, garnish

10. Serve over rice, quinoa or noodles
