An Isolated Shower Possible Today

TODAY: Overall hot and humid again outside with temperatures soaring into the 90s.  Look for a mostly sunny to partly cloudy day with the chance for an isolated shower.  Look for south winds between 2-7 mph.  Most if not all stay dry.  Temperatures tonight drop only into the upper 60s and low 70s under a mostly clear sky.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: A big ridge of high pressure at the surface and aloft means more sun and heat for us. Look for highs in the 90s with heat index values pushing 100 at times. Overnight lows will be around 70.

WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY:  We’ll stay humid and hot through the middle of the week and beyond with temperatures remaining in the 90s.  May will end well above normal on the thermometer.  There’s the chance for a few showers, but we’re not confident on things still, and it definitely won’t be a heavy rain producer.  Instead, we’re thinking more of a typical summer day with pop-up showers.

HEAT SAFETY: Drink plenty of water, use sunscreen, wear hats and light weight/light colored clothing, stay in air conditioning, check on the elderly, bring pets indoors, check your car for children and pets.
