Cold Front Is Approaching!

Scattered showers and storms are on tap again for today under a mostly cloudy sky.  A cold front swings through tonight into tomorrow bringing in drier, more pleasant air.

TODAY: Look for some scattered showers and storms in the region throughout the day.  It won’t be a washout, but storms could bring heavy rain and frequent lightning.  Winds will be out of the SW 5-10 mph under a mostly cloudy sky.  A strong gust of wind can’t be ruled out with any storm.  Highs climb into the upper 80s to low 90s with heat index values between 95-100.

TONIGHT: Expect a few scattered showers overnight as lows fall into the low 70s under a mostly cloudy to partly cloudy sky.  Winds are from the south from 3-8 mph.

WEDNESDAY: A few isolated showers can’t be ruled out along and behind our cold front, particularly in the morning hours.  As the day goes on, clouds will give way to sunshine and drier air will move in.  Highs will climb into the upper 80s.  Lows fall into the low 60s.

THURSDAY – LABOR DAY: High pressure finally sets in, bringing us drier weather.  Look for warm days and cool nights with lots of sunshine.  It will feel beautiful.  By Saturday Afternoon, the Gulf Moisture starts to make a return, so a few scattered showers and storms are possible.  We’ll keep you advised.

TROPICS: Tropical Storm Dorian looks to head towards Florida heading into the weekend.  By next week, it’s possible Dorian could impact weather somewhere in the Southeast, including in our region.  However, it’s much to far out to be aware of specifics.  Keep here for the latest details on how Dorian may or may not impact our region.
