Unofficial winner in Montgomery County sheriff’s race

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-Dozens gathered in Montgomery County waiting for election returns to roll in Tuesday night.

There were several close races to watch, including Tax assessor and District 2 Constable.

One of the main races to watch was the Sheriff’s race, where Jeff Tompkins is the projected winner.

“It makes you feel good I guess like I said I ready to get this show on the road. I’m going to work for the whole county all of the residents but I am excited to get the team together and work for Montgomery County,” Tompkins said.

The Montgomery County Circuit Clerk’s office will release official results Wednesday.
