Henry Ross unofficially wins County Attorney race in Webster County

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss (WCBI)- In the race for County Attorney in Webster County, Republican candidate Henry Ross faced off against Democratic candidate Hayes Burchfield.

Ross is the unofficial winner with just over thirteen hundred votes, not including affidavits.

Ross has been the Webster County Attorney for about a year now, after being appointed by the Webster County Board of Supervisors.

“One of the things that’s going on all over Mississippi and the South, there’s a drug epidemic. Methamphetamine. We have to be vigilant about that. We have to prosecute those crimes. Hopefully people can see another way, but we’ve got to make sure the law in obeyed,” said Ross.

There are 9 more affidavit ballots that will be counted Wednesday.
