Union County Plays Host to Miss. Bluegrass State Championship

Union County, Miss. (WCBI) – The Union County Fairgrounds will play host to the  Mississippi State Bluegrass Championship as well as the Down From the Hills Music Festival Saturday, May 17.

The bluegrass competition is a state-sanctioned event that appeals to spectators near and far.

Championship titles  and trophies will be awarded for youth and adults in guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and the dobro.

Spectators will be able to browse arts and crafts booths as well as take part in a blacksmith demonstration, instrument workshops, and watch the highly anticipated musical events that are scheduled for the day.

Concessions will be available for purchase.

Admission to the festival is $5 and it starts at 10 a.m.
